@robert @RichardChristy yes, I'd think the generation tray raised those who would become bad parents carry the larger share of responsibility... But then one must ask about the generation that raised them.
As to whether things were better in the past, that's too broad... By many objective measures the world is better today than at any point in history. I think we're not in a worse place, but teetering in the brink of throwing away a lot of good. I don't think we've reached the tipping point, but we'll likely only know in hindsight.
@SecondJon @RichardChristy Technically. But, as there were multiple ‘ass beating’ generations prior to the ‘time out’ generation, and if one thinks the world was better in the past than it is today, then it would seem all was well until one ‘ass beating’ generation decided to change the formula.
So logically, the argument is sound even if it’s truth is questionable.
Though, reading what counts for modern philosophy, I frequently wonder if there might be a kernel of truth too...
