@Adrenochrome We sometimes find these in steel, formed during solidification, though we've usually polished them flat when we see them under a microscope. Only rarely to we see any coloured versions.

In my next life will study geology. Or gemmology. It's so fascinating and beautiful.

@Adrenochrome I ought to say that they are not as large as the ones in your pic, only say 100 microns or so at most. One of the technical managers on the steel works was a geologist, otherwise we would have not known their name, only their composition.

I happen to know how much 100 microns is, my laminating pouch is that thick. 😆
