@ryanhoulihan with our renovation, we're getting an HRV installed. It's basically an open window, but with a heat exchanger to conserve the heat/AC you've put into your indoor air.
@acjay @ryanhoulihan
Interesting. I just bought a CO2 detector and learned that my indoor CO2 level is 1200. Might explain my toot quality issues but I digress.
Now I gotta research how to suck fresh air into my HVAC system without freezing to death.
@peatbog @ryanhoulihan an heat recovery ventilator (HRV) or energy recovery ventilator (ERV) is what you're looking for! You can hook them up to your duct work with your existing furnace / air handler, or some people run independent ducts for them. If there's a particular room you spend hours in (like an office) you can also install a point-source HRV/ERV for just that room, which might be cheaper.
@acjay
Right, my bad. Guess I fell into wishful thinking because I know a plumber who did work for us before but I dunno any HVAC and will have to research.
