Random gripe in the age of #enshittification: (#software #programming)

Is it just me or is commercial software quality generally declining?

Specifically, I see many applications (1) much slower and more bloated (CPU and memory-wise) than they should be, (2) aesthetically ugly in terms of GUI design, (3) constantly popping up stupid suggestions for what I want to do.

And to add insult to injury, many of them require you to create yet another ridiculous online account before being used.
