@thor@mstdn.social Really, the whole world might benefit if the US had an explicit "public internet forum" act to lay out allowances for moderating abusive behaviour while requiring a forum to not censor legal expression of ideas based on eg political affiliation or beliefs.

I'm not even sure how that would be done, and hashing it out would be intense, but it's what's needed.

It would force social media to give users more control over what they see and how they interact.
