Trying out the fediverse and I suppose an #introduction is in order. I am a palaeoclimate scientist and archaeologist, currently a postdoc at the University of La Laguna in Tenerife, Spain. My science explores how humans adapted to climatic change during the last Ice Age.
On here I'm really interested to interact with #rstats and #dataviz peeps. R coding is my absolute favorite, particularly visualization and #rmarkdown. I'm teaching myself to write my first R package at the moment!
@sarah_pederzani welcome! Your area of research is super interesting. Is there some good reading for us non-experts on the topic?
@sarah_pederzani well human adaptation to our current climate change is about the highest in my list for human concerns so whatever can be drawn up from the past that can be applied to present situations is fascinating.
@aosinski That's always great to hear, I definitely feel the same! I didn't originally get into this research with modern climate change in mind, but I'm recently trying to focus more on what we can learn that's useful for us going foward.
