"Among those who came to Sweden as refugees, the percentage who have vacationed in their old home country is 79 percent."

If you come somewhere as a refugee, and then leave, you should immediately be denied entry.

@ned you have no idea of what you’re talking about

@ned so you’re a refugee for 15 years, build up a life, things actually stabilize a bit back home and you think it’s fair to leave when you’re already a productive member of society and just want to see your parents before they die?
You never really talked to refugees right.

@aosinski Refugees have special status immigrants do not. Because if they get sent back, they will likely die. If a refugee voluntarily leaves their host country, they are no longer a refugee. They are an immigrant. They are taking advantage of special status they do not deserve.

@ned when you spend a substantial chunk of time in a place and become integrated to society you have every right to live in it and inhabit it like other so unless you think refugees are subhuman.

@aosinski @ned My parents have Dutch friends. They immigrated to Australia probably around 1960 or 1970.
They had to prove English proficiency and the ability to get gainful employment. They had to jump through all sorts of hoops.
I put it to you that the refugee treaty is simply abused to pump people into our countries that could never pass basic tests like that.
Testament to this is our "refugees" taking vacations in the countries we're supposed to be saving them from.
As far as them integrating - lel. Go look up the average IQ of most of these countries.
The average IQ of Sudan is 71, for example. You think people hovering around an IQ of 71 are going to be useful in Western countries?
If they had 100+ IQs, English proficiency, job skills etc. they wouldn't have had to come in as refugees.
These people will be a drain on us forever.

@C_J_S @aosinski If a refugee from Sudan can legitimately integrate into Australian society and prove they can become a useful citizen despite the odds, I'm willing to pay that. I don't think countries like the UK should though, because they have national history that we do not.

@ned @aosinski I disagree. However, the UK is a nice example of the failure of integration. (((Certain interests))) brought them boat loads of blacks just after WW2. These were not freed slaves and they probably had more ability than refugees today since they bought their boat tickets somehow, right?
But look at their blacks today. Are they well-integrated? Lolno. They're almost as bad as the blacks in the USA and they hate the people of Britain and victimize them rather than extend to them any gratitude.
@aosinski @ned Lel, how'd you end up on fedi talking this much like reddit?
