What do you make of CW culture and norms on here?

The people I see being most vocal about it are 99.99% White people which feels like a red flag

Well, knowing a person's prefernces is a little complex in , as people can pretty much 'craft' their own timeline, so you can follow whom you want to follow and unless people identify themselves as , or ,

I am curious to know how might you come to the figure of 99.99%? I'd like to use your method to estimate the percentage of various ethnicities in my timeline.

@arinbasu it's not an exact measure backed by science or anything, more hyperbole. But I have been on here on and off for years, so my observation isn't that off base.

@creatrixtiara

I see what you mean. :-), yup.

Several years ago, around 2017-ish, you may recall, there was a massive influx of Japanese language posts across several servers, and it was quite interesting to read the posts from, ahem ..., 99% ers.
So good point there!

@creatrixtiara @arinbasu I'm Very White, and in the last couple of years on Masto, I don't think I followed anyone I *knew* was a person of *any* color.

I followed a lot of LGBTQ+, but... yeah, 99% checks out.

On Twitter I found plenty of PoC to follow because the algo. Here I didn't even think to specifically search for PoC, which is uh, a learning in public moment for me 😬

Anyway, thank you very much for the above discussion, it's helped me think!
