Y'all, I daresay my illusions of grandeur (aka my needs to make something new) are growing again.

I keep having this vision of taking what made oberon and emacs interesting and lifting them up a level, closer to systems programming. I have *no* idea if such a thing is possible, but a workbench with a live project that lets you build efficient programs?
