Let me be clear: I believe in The Four software Freedoms! I want to see the FSF continue advocating their cause.

At the same time I do not oppose charging money for your (communal) software.
I do not insist you publish any software you write online for all to use. Or accept contributions from others.

This is not inconsistant with the "official definitions" of either open source or free software.

Also: If you insist everyone using Linux, or worse computers in general, should enjoy administrating it, or understanding how it works, please unfollow me. You're a roadblock to our movement and I want you gone!

I'm not saying you can't personally enjoy either of those things, they're useful skills. I certainly enjoy studying how my machine works!

But I'm thinking of blogs like FreedomToTinker & YouTube channels like The Linux Action show who have been the public face of our movement.

@alcinnz
I agree, especially because we can have both:
Simple, accessible programs and advanced programs. Everyone can be happy (at least when we are free to create alternatives and not limited by proprietary stuff)

That said, we should really insist more on teaching how to use computers in schools. With computers you create, with smartphones you consume.

>I agree. But I do believe that if you want to you use technology more and more in the modern world, you can’t dumb down the computer system, you have to educate the populist
The ability to read and write is inseparable with escaping corporate slavery.

Likewise we can have both simple accessible **AND** advanced books; at least when they aren't deliberately obfuscated to maintain proprietariness. .
