Still perplexed about the large number of people from Germany and Austria who confuse "never again" with "never again but if this one country does it it's fine".

This is really personal for me having grown up in Austria (and having had actual Nazi grandparents) and I don't understand it.

Israeli politicians are using the exact same tone and language when talking about Palestinians as my grandfather did when talking about Jewish people. It's heartbreaking to have to hear this garbage again.

@thomasfuchs I don't think conflating the Holocaust with Israel's response to being attacked by Hamas is an intellectually honest position to take. Co-opting the Holocaust for purposes of making hyperbolic comparisons about other matters is dangerous and ahistorical. This is exactly the type of thing the Holocaust Museum warn against everyday, and for good reason.

@slcw @thomasfuchs Yeah, I don't know if there's a non-military solution here to stop Hamas, which has said it will do this again and again. If there is, great, we (the US) should push them to do it.

But if not, then what else could they do?
