The thing to understand about the Hunter Biden laptop story was that it was SUPPOSED to be the Trump campaign’s “October Surprise.”
Mainstream media and social media were supposed to take the bait and focus on the appearance of scandal for the last weeks of the election.

This rings true. The laptop story ended up falling pretty flat outside the fever swamps, and of course it CAN’T because there just wasn’t much there… so Twitter’s dumb decision to temporarily bar links to the story must be the reason.
@normative There wasn't much to Hillary's email story either and it worked. Same with the stories about death panels if anyone still remembers those. The right has learned that a story need not be true at all to be effective. It just has to be repeated often enough. This is why they keep trying with the Hunter Biden's laptop BS. And it might work in the next elections even if MSM doesn't play along. People they are trying to sway don't read NY times or WaPo.
