The Ukraine war lessons go both ways. Even if UKR shoots down most drones, it's using expensive resources to do so. 6/

On the other hand, there's a benefit to avoiding destructive strikes on the energy grid etc. So the drone war is a battle of attrition, unclear who's winning 7/

Final point: most war-making resources on both sides effectively immune to attack: Russia is big, UKR supplied by the West. How does this thing end? 8/

@pkrugman these are all good points but the situation you describe absolutely need not remain static. Cheap AA guns is not some kind of alien tech. they have been around since WW1. they can and should be produced by the West and supplied to Ukraine to deal with the drones. also, they shoot bullets so the price of ammo will not be an issue with them. EW anti-drone weapons which don't consume ammo are another tool.

@herid @pkrugman Old enough to remember Sergeant York. Not that easy to use AA to take out missiles.

@markvonwahlde @pkrugman I didn't suggest to use AA guns to shoot down missiles. I said drones. AA guns are plenty good for that.
