US House of Representatives in session to conduct a 12th round of voting for speaker.
Round 12 nominees so far: McCarthy (R), Jeffries (D) and Jordan (R).
With five Republicans voting for other nominees already it appears McCarthy will not prevail in the 12th round of the roll call to select a House speaker.
In the 12th round, McCarthy picks up significant Republican support in his quest to become House speaker but still falls short.
