I’ve found that among fellow #readers it’s a common experiences to have a few #books on the shelf that you just can’t get into no matter how much you may want to

For me, these are:

Dune
Snowcrash
Wheel of Time (1-14)

I’ve heard such great things about all three, but ever time I start one it’s like wading through molasses

What book(s) do you want to read but can’t seem to get into?

I have this problem with The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence. Every so often I think "This looks great, give it another go" and after 10 minutes I put it away.

There are also the obvious ones like Ulysses and Moby Dick which I feel I should read at some point, while I also feel there are so many other great classics I shouldn't feel guilty about not reading those two.

@Liesvanrompaey @zamallama @bookstodon @audiobooks Moby Dick was one of the few classics I feel I should have dropped half way through. Had apprehensions about Ulyssess when starting it but it turned out to be quite enjoyable. One thing to keep in mind about it is that each chapter is written in a very distinct and unique style and you can't judge later chapters by the early ones.
