@kevinrothrock I think it's important that the discussion about cluster munitions doesn't get too black and white. It also costs Ukrainian lives if they don't have enough ammunition, and this is a way to mitigate that shortage.

@anderspuck Do you think 123 countries were wrong to sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions? Russia and the U.S. had the unique foresight to prepare for scenarios where they might need some extra ammo?

There wouldn't be any need for cluster ammo, if #Ukraine had already been given the legal/unbanned stuff it needs and has been asking for (espeacially combat jets/a proper air force).

all those things should have absolutely be given but cluster munitions would be needed anyway. Russia **still** has a significant advantage in artillery fires even though Ukraine tried to stockpile for the offensive. and the West can't ramp up the ammo production to levels needed to counteract that any time soon. US has several million cluster munitions. they will make immediate and measurable impact on the battlefield, assuming a good quantity is given.
