The older is the f1.8D with no built in AutoFocus motor. But it will AutoFocus on DSLR bodies with a motor in the body.
They later brought out a 50mm with a motor in using the 2002 design before the 2012 model came out I think?
The newer one autofocuses on any body, motor or not.
