Threads feels like Twitter 2.0. People think it’s better now, but I’m already seeing the same toxic habits—performative posting, clout-chasing, and shallow engagement. If Threads doesn’t learn from Twitter’s mistakes, it’s doomed to repeat them. 1/5
Meanwhile, platforms like Bluesky and Mastodon feel like fresh air. They’re focusing on building meaningful communities instead of optimizing for engagement metrics. It’s a better approach that’s already paying off. 2/5
Bluesky is fostering real conversations and community growth without relying on algorithms to decide what you see. Mastodon empowers users with decentralized control, giving them the freedom to create spaces that reflect their values. 3/5
The difference? Bluesky and Mastodon are designed to avoid the traps of algorithmic outrage and vanity metrics. Threads, on the other hand, feels like it’s walking the same tired path as Twitter, just with better PR. 4/5
Social media doesn’t need to be a battlefield. Bluesky and Mastodon are proving that platforms can prioritize user experience and meaningful interaction over maximizing ad revenue. Threads has a lot to learn.
@chiefgyk3d Toying with the idea of getting on Bluesky. Ideally I'd like to see more people come to Mastodon, but there's also the problem here of people ending up on block happy instances. Which kind of defeats the purpose.
