Sometimes folk worry when the Mars Rover hasn't gone anywhere for a while, or isn't returning any science. But at least we haven't yet messed it up this bad, eh @65dBnoise @PaulHammond51 😀 blogs.nasa.gov/sunspot/2023/07

The rover was on top of 'Mont Mercou' on sol 3088. That cliff face was 6 meters tall :crazy:

@PaulHammond51 @65dBnoise Oh I recall that rockface, I didn't realise it ended up on top of it! 😀

Good work from the rover drivers!

@magicaltrout @65dBnoise

I'm guessing they tested those drives in the Mars Yard more than once LOL

Somebody made a great animation showing the rover doing a ski jump off that rockface, but it was shared on a social media page I gave up on a while back :)

@PaulHammond51 @magicaltrout @65dBnoise Those drives didn't get tested in the Mars yard....just software simulated within RSVP like any other day. 🚀

You guys must have lots of confidence earned after years of practice :)

@PaulHammond51 @doug_ellison @65dBnoise You know these rover drivers, like race car drivers, massive egos! 😆

@magicaltrout @PaulHammond51 @65dBnoise There wouldn't be time to fire up the VSTB rover and test something and still get the commands ready in time. Also we don't have a 1:1 replica of Mt Mercou in the Mars Yard :D
