@vonderleyen I hope that all these money that we spend because of Russia will be recovered from Russia after the war ends. They should see that actions have consequences and that they are the ones that will pay for their mistakes, not us. If they won't have money to pay us when they will be defeated, they can pay with their natural resources. Then maybe they will think differently about invading other nations.
@Aspyre while I agree with the sentiment, isn't that exactly what most populations are doing all the time, paying for the decisions of their leaders? I'd suggest Russia should be held to account by the key will be striking the right balance?
This type of punishment is how we went from WWI to WWII. We can't make an entire nation pay for the mistakes of their leadership, especially when they're under authoritarian regimes, it causes suffering for everyone and leaves room for demagogues to rise to power.
