Nice piece by Krugman on the relationship between environmentalism and economic growth. Now, I think we, as a society, need to get off the growth-at-all-costs ratchet, but at least this is useful knocking down unserious old-schoolers who say that environmentalism is anti-prosperity.

@timbray I think this is seriously flawed. Is it possible to decouple growth from environmental harm? No, it is not. You could do that if there was no correlation at all but there obviously is. Between two countries using the same technologies, one with a higher GDP than the other, which one cause more environmental harm?
