@lauren RealID is raplidly becoming the IPv6 of real-world authentication.
@spamvictim @mtomczak There is still (and again) pressure for Congress to end the entire thing, especially now that TSA claims they are "further revising" the rules. Presumably Congress will do nothing, of course.
@lauren @spamvictim @mtomczak I was talking with a congressional staffer about this before Thanksgiving and realized that I've been fighting Real ID for almost 20 years now. Remember when we overwhelmed the fax machines for Federal Register comments in 2005? Remember fax machines????
@jdp23 @spamvictim @mtomczak Even stranger is that FAX machines are still in wide use in some fields and countries. Just rather invisibly for most people.
I keep this comic panel in my back-pocket for every time I encounter a fax machine in a professional setting.
Fortune smile upon thee, Chris Onstad, voice of a generation.
@mtomczak @lauren Rapidly? It was originally supposed to be in 2008, and they still haven't set up the database that all of the highly reliable IDs are supposed to feed.
