Reminder that Twitter has no system for removing badges at scale and will basically just have to use the list of accounts followed by @verified and start removing them manually. Have fun gang

@caseynewton @verified isn’t the new system a different field in the database than the old? Couldn’t they just stop showing blue checks in the UI for legacy accounts? Or do legacy blue checks have other perks they need to distinguish.

@mtomczak @mikkergp @caseynewton There’s definitely some sort of internal difference, because back before they killed the API, “legacy” checkmarks would show up in Tweetbot, but “new” Twitter Blue ones did not.
