Who can explain to me why the only photo of Mephistopheles and Margeretta is very poorly photoshopped on Google Arts & Culture?
It's not even that they just masked out the backdrop. Even the statue sitting on its own base is shitty clipped and colorized.

They're not. At the very least they're submitted through whatever partnership Google has with the Museums (that they initiate), and supposedly vetted by Goog.
Sometimes Google even sends people to take those photos (they did so for the Indian Museum).
Who knows where this abomination came from 🤷
