Was having a talk with my mother the other day abt how things have changed. I cook myself more than my mother, grandmother, or great grandmother ever did. They say great grandmom only did desserts.
But I've never woven a tapestry or a carpet. Sort of reminds me #ReadingTheStone. All the women are makers. Weaving things, sewing, and the like. All I've ever done was a bit of knitting really.
So I think that will be this year's project. Already have a few looms on the way. Thinking I'll start out with some silk belts and few towels. And try a few carpets before the end of 2023.

"This is the challenge of wise China policy: how do we structure an information environment when our understanding of Chinese politics increasingly relies on textual analysis of stilted and opaque party directives, while still keeping policy debates accessible to researchers, businessmen, and opinion shapers who have never been nor will ever be trained to read the sources on which our analysis is based?" https://www.palladiummag.com/2022/11/14/why-we-need-the-center-for-strategic-translation/

Update. Things here are pretty normal. For the previous 4 weekends or so wife had multiple boarders stuck at school because their families were in lockdowns in GZ. This week none.
They're also getting a trickle of boarders for the Western provinces. I guess they're just trying to get their kids to a city with more resources in case of lockdowns. Not sure.

Here’s an interesting fact: Trump’s Twitter account just came back online and it has only 2.8 million followers. If memory serves, this is down from more than 80 million when the account was suspended. What explains the more than 90 percent decrease? Is it that a huge number of his followers left? That they were purged in bot purges? That they were fake to begin with with?
Imperfect Daoist.
