Coin toss not so random after all, says groundbreaking study. A new study claims that the outcome of a coin toss can be predicted with 80% accuracy by using a high-speed camera and a machine learning algorithm. The study challenges the common assumption that coin tosses are fair and unbiased, and could have implications for gambling, cryptography, and decision making. #CoinToss #MachineLearning #BoingBoing boingboing.net/2023/10/10/coin

@haritulsidas Neither the linked article, nor the paper mention anything about ML or an 80% prediction. Where did you get those numbers? This only has real implications for cryptography if cryptographic systems rely on physical coin tosses to generate random numbers.
