Once a week I log into the birdsite to promote the podcast and I can't tell you how depressing it is.

Most of the people I've interacted with for years are still there, just tweeting through it with no sense of solidarity and without even seeming to grapple with the ethics of it.

And the thing that I find so maddening is that if they didn't do that, Musk's project of turning it into a vector for bullshit would fail.

It makes me feel like I must be crazy. Of course I'd like to stay on Twitter too! But I can't support that shit.

Maybe I should just stop doing that for my mental health and move on. But the problem is that I don't have a day job and despite losing a couple of thousand followers since Elmo took over I still have 34K people over there who might want to listen. Fuck.

I hate that scumbag so much.

@JoshuaHolland hey man, it's not ur's or their fault some dipshit saw something shiny and decided to piss on it like a dog. if it's your lively hood, log on and make that money. i still pop on for world news videos when shit goes down. gotta go where the action is, forgive them and urself!

@reversalawaters Yeah, I am distinguishing between doing what one has to do to make a living and just keeping the site going with engagement and cat vids and whatever like everything is normal.
