Reading messages is different than reading documents, aka text.
Bottom posting is a relic of using TTYs.
A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
@rmerriam What I like is "interspersed" posting where answers appear just below the question or comment. This is especially true for official or technical emails.
