Some star systems are affluent, civilized and offer a high standard of living with good personal safety and friendly locals who welcome tourists. These are, alas, a minority (although I hear nice things about the Shining Worlds, as long as you're not a hominid-chauvanist).
Avoid Vis-21 if you value luxuries like sanitation and electricity. And friends don't let friends visit Shadefire. Seriously, just don't go.
