I think most people are more careful about what they feed their dogs than what they feed their children.
To be honest, I give my dog shredded wheats as a treat.

Also, full disclosure, have a dog and no children. I pay tons of attention to what I feed the dog. I might be more careful with his diet than mine. His waistline reflects this.

Could you imagine giving your dog Count Chocula (warning, chocolate is toxic for dogs), Cap'n Crunch, Froot Loops, Luck Charms, etc?
The thought makes me shiver.
