In the 1930s, white residents built a wall to separate them from students at Morgan State U. (an HBCU here in Baltimore). That wall stood in place until just this year when it was finally torn down. A reminder that racism is built into the landscape.
In Baltimore (lived there, love the city), you do not need extra reminders about racism. Racism is baked into every aspect of the city. Every neighborhood. Every street. Every sidewalk. Every restaurant.
