We're not getting a nationwide mask mandate. We have courts that balked at President Biden allowing mandates just at workplaces. It's ridiculous how few states have them. Some states even prevented their governors from making emergency orders because they didn't like being told to mask or stay home.
The state may not have one, but where I live there is a mask mandate indoors in the municipality. In the past two days I've made quick stops in two stores. I have seen:
two people enter unmasked right behind me in a nearly-empty store and shop until after I left, no employee asking them to leave
the cashier in that same store with their nose out!
the cashier in the other store with their nose completely out of the mask and interact with another employee (who was correctly masked in a medical mask)
I don't want to stay home again and have everything delivered this winter, but have people not learned how to wear a mask properly after all this time?
