@raphaelboffin Thank you for all these fantastic posts! I quit my PhD the first time after 9 mos. because of crippling depression and wasn't sure if I would ever go back. I ultimately did 3 years later and that time off was one of the best decisions I ever made. I went back to the same department and supervisor who was my mentor, champion, and friend throughout it all. Quitting does not equate failure. 👍

Sometimes, taking a break is just the best. It’s also amazing that you found your supervisor to be a good mentor and friend.
