Some data to back up my perception that this tech downturn’s worse than 2008/2009. Tech companies laid off about 65K people each of those years. We’ve lost 150K globally this year alone.

It’s not over either as some companies are waiting until after the holidays to do layoffs. While others are waiting to see what Q4 results look like. 😬

@carnage4life The article quotes the numbers, but I wonder how big, in relative terms, is 65K back then compared to 150K of today, when taking into account the growth in tech since then 🤔 I don’t know how to get reliable data about this though 😅
