In need of a better Confused emoji. Several ? above a head, or something along those lines. This guy 🤔 is great for, say, sarcastic thoughtfulness, and the shrug is a great shrug, but neither gives that “utterly baffled and lost here/genuinely no idea what you are getting at” energy I find myself w more often than I should admit.
Spelling it out is actually harder than it sounds because much of the same language is recycled by the mocking and the passive-aggressive. I need Tone.
Last year I made a website for people who want to #volunteer or do good in the world, but may not want or be able to do something in person.
It's a categorized index of ways you can #volunteer your time with a variety of projects.
I made it specifically for people who are struggling with #mentalhealth issues, who may be #disabled or are maybe just overwhelmed at where to start.
I'd love feedback or suggestions for more sites!

@IPEdmonton I used to have a cat that would run around to get up some speed then stop on a small throw rug at one end of a hallway and ride it all the way to the end of the hallway, which ended in a bathroom where we would often find the rug in a rumpled heap.
@NaturalNews really? Remind me, which type of citizen pays taxes?
@Watchmanonthewall @NaturalNews a disorganized failure in defense of chattel slavery is the best inspiration you can come up with? Sounds about right.
In Poland, waxwing birds love to eat fermented fruit, get drunk and then lie insensible on the pavement.
People collect them and put them in a safe place until they sober up... #OurBeautifulWorld
Thanks to @StateofPoland for the photo.
@empiricism @emily_rj @atthenius upgrading ventilation/filtration systems in public buildings remains an overdue public health priority, though not one most of us have any say over as individuals. Benefits could pay off over a broad range of areas from air pollution to allergens, not just covid itself.

This all adds up to what Jay Freeman calls #FelonyContemptOfBusinessModel, an abuse of copyright law that allows a monopolistic corporation to reach beyond its own walls and impose its will on it customers, critics and competitors:

If Deere was finally suing for peace in the #RepairWars, well, that was wonderful news indeed - as I said, a seeming miracle.
But - like all miracles - it was too good to be true.

@sambowne @sambowne I’m way too online, then. Had the impression it was getting much worse; the antis seem confident lately that a reluctant consensus has formed behind them that the vaccines don’t help with transmission, don’t help with infection, and that the battle is now whether the moderation of symptoms during a window of a few months is worth a mounting evidence of risk. Startling to realize how disconnected their circles are from the real world.
@autonomysolidarity because what San Francisco really needs to become a safer, more pleasant community is moar traffic!
@omniumgatherum so they seriously learned nothing from what just happened in #Brazil ? Unbelievable.
@interacter or whatever this is, started out as a few tiny sprouts poking through the cracks in my driveway so I planted it in my #alternativelawn yard and this happened when the weather got cold:
Twitter refugee still learning all the things. She/her, nerd, ADHD, JD, vaxxed, cat staffmember, Open Mind, Open Hearts, Open Doors, unpaid shill for the imperfect. Still pulling for those taco trucks on every corner.
