@britishtechguru @QasimRashid where is your evidence of this happening on the scale of US mass shootings? Bringing up other countries is self-refuting, when you compare the gross difference in numbers. Do you think other countries don’t have bullies, mental illness, violent video games, secularized schools, absent parents, poor role models, or all the other proposed causes? Is it your contention that America simply has the worst, most damaged people around?

Hunter Biden would have to serve on the Burisma board for at least 5,000 years to earn the money Middle East governments have given to Kushner’s firm since Trump took office. of course had an official White House position, and worked on ME policy.

Literally swiping money from charities. Just straight up evil villain shit.

Our bodies are temples— we pour way too much focus on the outside, but it is the inside that matters, and what defines us.

Our bodies are tools— if an eye or hand or any other body part distances us from God, it is better to cut it off and throw it away. Again, what is sacred is the spirit inside, and our flesh is diametrically not, it is a means to an end. The end of course of loving God, which He tells us means we feed His sheep. Not of winning a human consensus of propriety.

Our bodies are garments— and we are not meant to wear one wrong for us.

On this , let’s remember that what God sees is far beyond what man sees, because God sees our hearts. It’s time the sees our trans brothers and sisters, too.

I’ve been seeing a genre of post on where the poster just spams every popular hashtag they can think of, most clearly unrelated, paired with deliberately hateful memes and ugly remarks about how [slurs] should die and so on. Since they aren’t on my instance and I’m only seeing them from hashtag abuse, what happens when I report them? Who does the report even go to— my admins or theirs? And does it do any good if they can keep reaching everyone the same way?

@Hyolobrika@berserker.town @arossp @jbouie we DO give all parents a say. It’s called school board elections. A democratic process of selecting qualified locals who have dedicated their lives to education and institute orderly processes for making sure concerns are heard out in a *balanced* and big picture way, rather than de facto ruled by Facebook rumors and YouTube rants aimed at the same sorts of gullible older folks once convinced D&D was a Satanic cult.

@Hyolobrika@berserker.town @arossp @jbouie this is the logic that have embedded homeowners’ associations in neighborhoods across the US. Sold as giving power to the “community” instead of the “government,” and that’s obviously good, right? The reality is that it gives every spun-up Frank and Karen a license to ban anything they don’t like or reminds them of people they don’t approve of. The tyranny o the loudest in a mob is not always more empowering for the rest!

@maxleibman I have an ever-shortening list of holdouts important enough to me to keep going back for since they aren’t crossposting regularly yet, but while I’m there anyway fuck yeah I’m stealing Elon’s content to enrich his competition. And screenshots >> links, for obvious reasons. When the person does also have a 🐘account, even a defunct one, I tag it. I also constantly evangelize for 🐘while I’m there, with some known successes!

For the past 6 hours, there’s been 2,000+ Mastodon account creations per hour.

This hasn’t happened since December 2022.

@mmasnick predicted that Elon Musk’s new Twitter Blue policies would result in another Mastodon migration, and it looks like he’s right.

Once Twitter effectively becomes “pay to play”, Mastodon suddenly becomes more appealing.

It is no exaggeration, as @mmasnick writes here, that Big Publishing is one huge step closer today to killing libraries it doesn't control -- a longtime goal of a cartel that would never permit public libraries to exist if they were being proposed today.

That's how awful a judge's ruling was in the Internet Archive case.

Note: The ruling could also open the floodgates to the Copyright Cartel-led banning of all kinds of things we take for granted today.
