House Republicans are preparing a special investigation, led by Jim Jordan, into the FBI and security agencies w/ broad power to see highly classified info & a mandate to scrutinize open criminal investigations...like Trump/Jan6. nytimes.com/2023/01/08/us/poli

You know, going after something like the FBI could have some unintended consequences. They can find all manner of things when they look. But I guess Jordan is too stupid to have thought of that. Looking forward to the outcome!

@AndyLowry @charlie_savage most fbi agents are republicans and sadly won’t do anything about it. They’ll just cooperate to show they did nothing wrong and come up with some bs headlines that the media will eat up but will turn out to be nothing

They might if they felt like they were under attack. See Comey, James. 😉

@AndyLowry @charlie_savage that’s what any rational person would do but the gop has been bashing the fbi and alleging all kinds of illegal activities from them since 2016 and they still support & help every gop official they can. In the middle of all the spying lies gop was alledging, the fbi still refused to investigate Kavanaugh’s past and pushed him through to be confirmed

That's a good point, I was quite disappointed at the time and even more so later when more info came out about their deliberately lackadaisical process. I guess we just have to wait and see. At least it's free entertainment.😉

@AndyLowry @charlie_savage hope for the best but don’t expect it. I don’t care what profession they have or what org they are part of, good people don’t support republicans right now. And they are constantly having their heads pumped full of right wing propaganda to continue supporting gop no matter what.
