The recognized Mr. Super Cool Dude of the neighborhood had one of those. It's the only one I ever saw. There were also a couple of big BSA's around. Harleys hadn't really caught on yet, at least not where I lived. There were several Triumphs about as well, Tridents and Bonnevilles both. Ahh, the coveting I did.

@AndyLowry An Indian company bought the rights and stamping/manufacturing hardware and makes them in India now. I think they updated some things like electrics, brakes etc

If it's Tata motors, that might even be worth looking at.

@SecularJeffrey @AndyLowry Not sure I've ever seen a Royal Enfield in the flesh and I grew up in So. Calif. in the 60's/70's with all sorts of motorcycles everywhere.
