Just having a major discussion about wearing masks and how tiring and tedious it is to continuously take them off and on again. I totally get that. I'm not a fan either. But do you know what is also tiring and tedious? #LongCovid and #MECFS
Trust me you don't want that. Stick with the masks and spare yourself and your loved ones some lifelong and painful illnesses. How about that?

@dioneira Totally. To me the biggest problem with masking is that not everyone can afford good masks to protect themselves. Also, I know there are some who legitimately can't wear them. But taking them off, putting them on isn't any harder than donning or shrugging off a coat, something everyone in a cold climate already deals with. It's no big deal and as an argument is laughable.

@ckkellymartin @dioneira , not just a coat but a scarf, hat, and mittens/gloves and boots. And we teach little kids to put them on too. It's a hassle but it can be done.
As to being able to afford good masks: I bought an elastomeric respirator (from GVS for €19) because it'll last far longer than the disposable respirators (and will be cheaper in the long run). I just need to make sure it seals as well as I hope it does.

@BE , it feels good and it sits well on my face. I am just not confident it is sealing all the time. With my disposable respirators I can usually tell when there is a gap, but the silicone is making me suspicious.
I need to finally buy some artificial sweetener and do an at-home fit-test...

Yeah that's always best. As much as we like to think there's "the best one" out there for everyone it just doesn't work that way. I've done some fairly unorthodox stuff to get a good fit at times over the last few years.

The Elipse ended up being the best elastomeric for me that I've tried, and I tried a few before settling on it.
