Definitely don't disagree overall. I've heard some things through the grapevine, a while back, about what their financials supposedly look like versus what their VC overlords(Thursday Ventures) want. They have 4 patents on their technology, and I don't *think* they're planning on licensing anyone else to do testing.

I have no interest in being sued, though, and given that it's just rumors I'll just leave it as is and see what comes next in wastewater testing, if anything.

Ruth Ben-Ghiat issues a warning: #TFG will institute another reign of terror; a 2nd presidency would end democracy & freedoms. A small circle of insiders would administer authoritarianism & conspire in his corruption: “For the personalist ruler, the party exists to defend, avenge, & enrich the ruler. Every counterrevolution needs disciplined cadres. #Project2025 is readying a civilian army of bureaucrats to transform US govt.” #GOPConspirators #Authoritarianism #democracy newrepublic.com/article/181265

remember when trump said if we just stop testing for covid it would go away as if by a miracle and everyone thought that was a scandalously stupid thing to say

on an entirely unrelated note since 3 weeks ago the CDC no longer requires hospitals to report covid hospitalizations and now biobot is no longer showing covid wastewater data for the US

I hear that 2020 was difficult and traumatic for a lot of people. But for me, and I suspect for many of us who are still Covid-cautious, this year has been the most difficult year yet.

Not only are few people still wearing masks, but mask bans are now happening. Public areas are more and more dangerous, and mask-wearers are now being viewed as criminals.

Family are less and less tolerant of what they now view as subversive behavior from those of us who don’t want to gather together without mitigations.

As more years pass, waiting on medical care becomes impossible, and the likelihood of needing to take the major risk of visiting medical, dental, eye care and other facilities becomes greater. And now with the added risk of even healthcare providers not masking.

This is the hardest year by far. My patience for those talking about the trauma of 2020 has waned.

I'm crushed that #Biobot stopped posting real-time county-level #wastewater data. They were the most consistent, transparent, reliable source to show that #CovidIsNotOver.

My local #Massachusetts Water Resource Authority #MWRA uses Biobot, will this affect their data too?! Their graphs don't map to my county exactly, but they're close.

Are there any other sources? I'm looking into #WastewaterSCAN, though they also do not have my county.

@ikuo1000 @joex

Please tell me what they say. I mentioned this in another thread, but, a lot of state and local utilities have their own dashboard, but collect and send samples to Biobot. My understanding is that they've essentially just been put on a subscription plan by Biobot and as long as they pay they will continue without any differences, but I haven't seen that officially anywhere as of yet.

I get asked a lot where I buy tea from. I'm definitely that person who has multiple "Tea Hoarder" shirts because when people see them they immediately think of me.

It's that time of year when I transition from more oolongs and puerhs with some black teas, made hot in the morning, to all iced teas. I like to make a pitcher and throw it in the fridge for the family every morning.

So I just stocked up on some flavored black teas from Ohio Tea Co. for the first time. I'm really happy with them! Well packaged, they seem nice and fresh. My wife even organized them all this morning so they actually fit in the tea pantry 😅

I’m old enough to remember when they were screaming that people who don’t want to get Covid can just stay home.

Then when sick people weren’t allowed to stay home they were screaming if you want to wear a mask you can wear a mask.

I remember the government extend telehealth through December 2024, why is every doctor I see trying to force me to come in into the office to give me information they can give me over the phone?

Him and I having blocked each other long ago I'm always amused when these things come across my timeline. It's pretty frequent, too.

There was a young man from Islip,
Said the vax had a magnet and chip.
Now his memes have all stopped,
His O2 is way dropped,
And the COVID sent him a pink slip.

Can anyone think of a better place name than "Islip"*, that rhymes with "chip" & "slip", with the accent on the 2nd syllable, so the limerick scans better?

Probably one of the most clearly written, well thought out and downright disturbing pieces I’ve read about the current state of our democracy and political system. The historical context helps tremendously in seeing the trajectory we’ve long been on and how hard it will be to fix (if even possible). motherjones.com/politics/2024/

Some time ago I started making faceplate PCBs for @chipperdoodles Anwaar platform. It is such a great idea focusing on the faceplates and reusing all the battery/controller/charging part. Getting creative and sharing your work is so easy and accessible. Can't wait until his @crowdsupply campaign starts and we hopefully see and share our Anwaar faceplate PCBs at all the cons (link in the thread).
This one has 30 charlieplexed 0402 LEDs forming a caffeine molecule.

That's cool. I hope to not stumble on a murder scene, but, I have been hoping to get a glimpse of the one I found the paw print for. Based on the size of the paw print it's a young one, too, I think.

@mfennvt @StillIRise1963

Whoa! I've seen the paw print, but, even with a few cameras out there I haven't seen a bobcat yet. They're pretty elusive.

@StillIRise1963 @mfennvt

This winter in the frost one morning I found a bobcat paw print near one of their holes. I might be on team bobcat now 😂
