Black Friday reminder: one of the most important things you can do to help our planet is not to buy things you don't need. And "eco-friendly" things are still things. So don't be sucked in by "offers" and "deals" unless you already needed that thing. Please.
Just checked how much we currently spend on heating with our heat pump. Per unit of heat delivered we spend 7p/kWh using @OctopusEnergy@twitter.com Agile tariff.
A gas boiler at 85% efficiency currently delivers heat at cost of 13p/kWh (average costs from uswitch).
That's a 45% saving.

It just occurred to me that across the 4,000 #Mastodon servers each with their #MastoAdmin plus their moderator teams... we have more content moderators tracking reports and complaints than Twitter does.

@helenczerski @leafster Yes I see what you mean. The thing is those cuts look clean and if planning to fell in stages the cuts would be left rough with the felling dips still in them. It would take an extra cut to leave them neat like that. Fingers crossed they are pollarded. If I can share your picture might be able to find out more as I am on an arboriculture forum.
They don't look like ash. They may be pollarding the trees. Seems odd to cut them so neatly to that height and not just fell from the base
UK home insulation rates have collapsed after 2012 and never recovered.
