@indyfrompace I'm new here too. I'm slowly trying to find everyone I know here. (This is also my bird name). For me it is the science of weather protection.

@astrotoya I've been trying to connect with my Twitter friends here too! Glad to see you!

@amydiehl He's an insane man that needs to be stopped at all costs.

@DataDrivenMD The whole thing has become awful with Twitter, and the hatred and misinformation is just sad now. Elon needs to run away, far far away. Ideally, it will get sold again to someone with a real business plan, not an ego.

While I am not in a position to leave Twitter, it is certainly not the same now in the Elon era. I feel that everything that has made it great is losing its value.

@ShikhaJainMD It's a crisis worse than COVID. There needs to be a way to solve this.

@Scgalvinmd I'm experimenting with Twitter Blue and keeping an open mind. But I know from the internal part, I will need somewhere better. Especially if the meteorology community beyond broadcast leaves.

@ianlivingston I am having a tough time trying to do the same thing. It's especially tough when we are all on many different servers.

If you're wondering more about me, I am a Ph.D. candidate at Mississippi State University. My area of expertise is on tornado and severe weather protection, and I've been working on finding unique and new ways to protect families and communities.

One of the projects I have is a tornado shelter map that I have spent over a year working on. I'd like to make it more convenient for users but it has already had over 41,000 views. The link to the map is here: google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid.

I'm hoping to keep building things up for the , and overall communities as well, although it can be so challenging for me dealing with disabilities as well. I know some of you can relate!

Don't be afraid to reach out to me!

@skrishna You're welcome and you actually made me set up an account here! I'm also this name on Twitter.

@bschillace Being autistic myself makes it so hard and I felt the exact same way! I know I can relate to you!

@skrishna It's great to see you Swapna! Your show helps so much and good luck with the book project!

@SarahMackAttack It's great to see you on here Sarah! I know you are very helpful as well. You work is always appreciated.

@TerryAdirimMD Yes I agree! I'm trying to see who I can find on here. I'm in a different part (hoping to move it to scicomm.xyz).

@DeannaMarie208 It's great to see you here! I'm trying to build the core network while keeping this largely for a few people (at least for now). But I know you and the other friends I have are so valuable.

@TerryAdirimMD I'm still learning this too. Likely to leave this for a small group at least initially.

@DrJaimeFriedman@med-mastodon.com I'm learning about it myself and trying to figure it out.

Hi everyone! This is a backup account I have introduced on Mastodon. I have no intention of leaving Twitter (and it would be counter-productive) but want to keep in touch with the best of the best here.
