@timowensby@ioc.exchange @ecmclaughlin @kathygriffin There is a difference between impersonation and parody. She did not impersonate him, anyone could see her twitter "handle" had changed to Elon Musk but her account name remained @kathygriffin.
@FediJoshJ @Sheril I don't think journalists are leaving twitter. The users are. There is a mass exodus of users, including myself, because we all figured out we can read twitter and our favorite journalists on twitter for free, without being monetized and algorithmed. I personally prefer the way I see what I want to follow in my feed on the Mastodon site, and I hope others will prefer it as well.
@vanessagorelkin @jhpot Welcome.
Hi Everyone, I'm also new and part of the #twitter exodus, not that I paid that much attention to the twitter. I liked the journalists I followed on twitter, and hope to see them here in the future. I also belong to the #Diaspora universe and #mastodon is pretty much the same.
About me, I am retired from #IT (#informationtechnology) work, but about to form an #LLC as a #bookkeeper and personal assistant, just because it will be less stressful than managing #networks that don't like to behave.
For fun, in 2019 I formed an #anti-litter group that generated about 500 volunteers. We were well-known in our community and called upon to clean up after multiple events or just on our own or in group events. My #doggo pulls a cart that I call the litter wagon. I have since moved from that community but the group is still going strong.
I love to #volunteer and am trying to figure out how to volunteer in my new location. That will be my focus after I start my new business at the start of the new year.
My other focuses are on #sustainability, #food, #gardening, #horticulture, #journalism, and #yoga (although I'm not really very good at yoga lol).
Please hit me up for conversation if any of these interests match yours.
@edk I was getting multiple of those a day, reporting every single one as spam and still getting more and more. The only people that are going to be left on Twitter are going to be journalists and bots.
Here for the props, man. I'm a volunteer, a volunteer coordinator, I started an anti-litter organization with 500 volunteers, and I pick up litter with my dog.
