The Hermitage mansion in Lausanne was built for banker Charles-Juste Bugnion between 1851 and 1853. The plans for it were developed by Swiss architect Louis Wenger. In 1976, the Bugnion family bequeathed the house and part of the estate to the City of Lausanne and a private foundation was created with the purpose of establishing a high-level visual arts museum. #architecture #photography #lausanne

Should the UK made a deal with Springer Nature (SN)?

I argue that the UK should no longer support transformative deals; other forward-looking models are proposed.

1. Nature APCs are not justified.

2. Gold OA is not the only way forward.

3. Gold OA creates another paywall that prevents many authors from publishing.

4. SN refuse to recognise #RightsRetention for all authors.

5. SN have not met last year's targets for over half their transformative journals.

If your interactions with actual human beings are so perfunctory that they could be accomplished by a bullshit generator robot, the problem you actually need to solve is understanding why people want this meaningless output from you and digging deeper into the cause so you can address the problem at its root, not smoothing the symptoms over with pablum nonsense. The correct solution is to *stop generating bullshit* not to generate it faster.
