Companies have poured millions of dollars into forest carbon offsets so they can keep emitting greenhouse gases.

It's not working.

Scientists at @nasa and the University of California Irvine looked at 37 forest carbon offset projects across #California. They found the amount of carbon stored isn't increasing and logging isn't slowing down over the past decade

The JCPA is framed as a bill to "help journalism" but even many journalists have come out against it, knowing that their private equity owners will just pocket the cash. Similarly, part of the law would *require* internet companies to link to misinfo sources AND to pay them for the privilege.

It goes against everything that the web is supposed to stand for while enriching those destroying newspaper journalism.

I'm old enough to remember that respecting and defending the Constitution was the most basic expectation of every citizen, let alone someone running for president. Even after everything we've been through, the idea that Republicans will stick with a man who flagrantly demands the Constitution be discarded to install him into office: Infuriating.
