Not trying to be a dick but can the Twitter migrants let the numbers game go? That’s what led to so much pointlessness on that app in the first place. How about just connect and have fun with ppl instead of making it all about follower numbers.

The moderation team is bigger than ever and so is the amount of reports we have to process. We're dealing with unprecedented growth despite having closed registrations on these servers weeks ago. Some false positives are unavoidable, but we understand these mistakes are upsetting and unacceptable, and we are trying to do better. Luckily all moderator actions can be appealed and reversed.

Tonight's evening read is some good news out of the Pacific Northwest. Oregon governor Kate Brown has pardoned 45,000 people with cannabis convictions. The move also forgives millions in fines and fees.

I'm starting to transition over from Twitter, where I began posting laboratory papers on paleoclimate and isotope geochemistry in 2012, evolving to political and DEI issues in between laboratory milestones. My interest in climate made me a scientist, and that is inseparable from politics and DEI issues. I hope to find some of my fave follows and followers here, as well as developing a new network.
