#ChronicIllness and #Disability teach you many things. Some of them are fun things that regularly blow people’s minds! For example, if you have trouble opening #Walgreens child-safety caps, you can turn the cap upside down to bypass it. (Obviously don’t do this when you have small kids around.) I’d imagine this would be great for anyone with #arthritis or without full use of both hands.

Here is an excellent thing I learned about from @kathryntewson: #TimerCap. It’s very simple: the timer restarts when you open the bottle. You can see it’s been 28 minutes since I opened this prescription ibuprofen, so when it hits 8 hours it’s safe for me to take another one.

It also comes with a removable child safety lock!

This is REALLY handy for ADHD people who can’t remember if they took their meds. I got them to help my teen remember to take hers. I discovered a great use when she came down with COVID: I put ibuprofen in the bottle and told her that when her throat hurt, she could take more if the timer had hit four hours.

That way, she didn’t have to depend on us in the middle of the night. Win-win ❤️

Lastly: these caps were also designed as a theft deterrent. If you have pills mysteriously disappearing, this is one way to keep an eye on them.

Okay one more thing: the big drawback for these caps is they don’t fit all bottles, including Walgreens. In the photo I peeled the label off my regular bottle to stick it on theirs.

They DO make a “wide-mouth” version where you can just drop a whole bottle into their bottle, though.

@jurijuri Another thing I have found for vitamins and supplements--I try to buy Solgar brand. They come in a glass bottle and have a regular, old style twist cap. Sometimes a little more pricey, but well worth it for the ease of use and the lack of plastic. I re-use the bottles to store smaller things inside my safe.
