The four fundamentals of marksmanship:
1 - Steady position
Get comfortable. Lean forward if standing.
2 - Aiming
Maintain consistent sight picture.
3 - Breathing
Slowly breath out and plan on completing the trigger squeeze shortly after the exhale.
4 - Trigger squeeze
Your trigger squeeze shouldn't move your point of aim
Also:
Know the trajectory of the bullet you are firing.
The only other variables that effect accuracy are consistency of the shape and weight of the bullet, consistency of the powder charge, and the energy of the bullet. The more energy, the less the bullet is affected by the atmosphere.
