I have just learned that I have been laid off, three days before Christmas.

I have a lot of emotions right now, but instead of airing those out I'm focusing in a more positive direction. I am looking for a full-stack engineer or back-end/front-end developer position in the information security space. I am proficient in Python, JavaScript (React, Node, Express mainly) and am getting proficient in Rust. I have my GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) certification and am comfortable in a systems engineering role with Rust or C/C++ as well.

Contract work welcome, full-time employment preferred. Appreciate the support and hope your holidays are off to a better start than mine!

This year, scientists at RBG Kew described a new species of flower, Victoria boliviana, or the giant Bolivian water lily. Its leaves can grow to a staggering length of 3.3 meters across (over 10 feet). Kew researchers observed it in the wild & confirmed its status with DNA. Today I picked up my foster black cat that the shelter named Kathy. Kathy is sadly FelV+. It makes me cry that nobody wanted her. She's a cuddlebug and an absolute sweetheart. The shelter is going to take care of her medical needs and I am going to take care of her dietary needs. She was so happy to be leaving the shelter that she scampered into her carrier and she made herself right at home on my bed and was fast asleep and her paws were twitching within minutes. Poor loveable Kathy.
