Moving from Twitter to Mastodon feels like when I moved from #Stata to #Rstats.
At first*, everything seemed a bit rough and I often got frustrated. But I learnt to tolerate the idiosyncrasies, because the whole operation is run on good will. And, for me, that is quite magical. Like #Wikipedia; the greatest encyclopedia of knowledge that humanity has ever created! Free and open source software is quite magical.
*I still find #Rstats very frustrating at times 😔
@pwgtennant I just spent most of the day trying to figure out why my R code that worked 3 months ago all of a sudden doesn't work and gives a cryptic error message
